Restroom Vandalism at ATF HeadquartersBATFU can't even use a toilet without destroying something. Or leaving something unflushable behind.
October 13, 2009
Numerous incidents of restroom vandalism are occurring throughout the ATF Headquarters building and are being reported to the ATF Physical Security. ATF is now partnering with the General Services Administration and Federal Protective Service to increase surveillance and reporting of suspicious behavior and damage in an effort to stop this activity. Employees are encouraged to immediately report vandalism or suspicious activity to the ATF Physical Security office at 202-648-7540 or the ATF Building Manager, Ray Spicer at (202) 306-9617 or Raymond.Spicer@atf.gov. All information will remain confidential. Theft, defacement, damage or littering of federal property is considered vandalism and is grounds for disciplinary action. Please help us protect our building and everyone’s health by being aware of activities in your immediate area. [More]
I talked about the group reporting this here.
Have you written the Oversight Committee yet? Why not?

Something like this happened in the Senate office buildings a year or two ago, someone kept setting fires in the garbage cans. They eventually found out it was a female Capitol Police officer.
ReplyDeleteThis is delicious. It will be rich to see how much they like eating their own dog food. "What, you can't spy on me!"
ReplyDeleteNext will come the "informant" stage, like they had in Stalinist Russia - if you *didn't* inform on someone, you were suspect!
ReplyDeleteI hear that if you flush a toothbrush down a toilet, it can't navigate the trap, and will itself trap anything material that is flushed after it...
Require them to fill out a form and undergo a background check before being allowed to use the restroom.
ReplyDeleteAnd shut them down if they enter "Y" or "N" instead of "Yes" or "No".
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty funny idea, Chas--wish I had time to doctor up a Form 4473. Just the thought of calling the applicant a "Transferee" strikes me as amusing, and I'm thinking instead of asking about "Race" that it might have cause to inquire about ethnicity of food last eaten (Thai, Mexican, Italian, Chinese Take-Out...)
And, not form-related, but making a slamflush mishap resulting in more than one flush per handle pull a violation--no matter what the cause.
I think they should call FBI back-up, borrow some tanks, set fire, to the compound, shoot anyone trying to escape the conflagration, and prosecute anyone who survives. I mean, Hell, they did it before.
ReplyDeleteOnly one difference is this time they would get the guilty, but hey, that's a plus, isn't it?
