We're the Only Ones Retired Enough

A 16-year veteran of the town's police force retired this week rather than face a termination hearing. [More]
So he's caught trying to break into an occupied house, he flees and hides from responding officers, and it's his choice? What private sector jobs allow you to retire at 38, assuming with a pension and benefits?

And is this deal reserved exclusively for "Only Ones" or can I get in on it, too?
