My wife doesn't like cops -- she was married to one. Still, she says, anyone who kicks a police officer deserves a Tasering. Cops are people too, she says.
ReplyDeleteWiness the "Complaint Department: Take a Number" graphic on the main WoG page. An inert grenade gag gift. Yet items like these were introduced as evidence that the Branch Davidiamns at Mt Carmel were radical terrorists in possession of military explosives.
In the CHILD-Tasering case, is it that the Powers That Be have to demonstrate daily how streets and homes are full of the "mentally ill" so ever more exctreme measures have to be taken for officer safety?
My wife doesn't understand that "less-than-lethal" isn't always.
And ain't i coolk how, when Only Ones have a tantrum IN PUBLIC, it's put down to the stress of all that public responsibility?
When they're not handcuffing and raping them, ala New Orleans.
ReplyDeleteDefender,
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems is that people keep putting the word "than" into the description. In actuality tasers, pepper spray, etc... are "less lethal" NOT "Less THAN lethal". The former states that they are potentially lethal devices whereas the latter states that they are safe devices that at worst cause pain and an ouchie.
isn't there a new "disease" or "syndrome" or something at play in the 10yr old's case? Also, had the girl died could the mother who gave him the OK to tase her be charged?
ReplyDeleteAre tasers now approved parental disciplinary tools? I'd really love to have a time machine and a cloacking device to go watch how the 10 yr old was raised. My bet has to go with "give them what they want" method, which as demonstrated in the near riots at UCLA post seems to work out rather poorly.
Taser, it's what wipes the smile right off.
ReplyDeleteDefender, your wife is right that cops are people too. However, most of them are not very nice people and they don't act like people.
ReplyDeleteAnd there are legitimate reasons to fuck them up. Not all of them and not all of the time, but being a cop does not bestow extra rights, as most of them think.
When one acts like people I treat him like people, otherwise......
Oh, and I get to make the determination. Now, that's cool!
I'm having trouble believing what I'm hearing on the radio. The police union is taking a vote of no confidence in the police chief and the city commissioner in charge of the police bureau, and this morning are holding a rally and march in support of the officer who shot a 12-year-old girl.

And the cop in question has filed a stress-disability claim, like he's the victim:
