"Suspect Brandished Machine Pistol"

No he did not.

Not that "Authorized Journalists" either know why they're wrong--or would give a damn if they did.

And the "facts" offered by the NY Daily News prove that point. The only reason they go into the machine gun spiel is to confuse. When they finally talk "semi-automatic," they say nothing about rate of fire, but instead scare their readers over "accuracy."

Besides--it gives wretched opportunist Furious Mike another photo op to tell us why his good-for-thee-but-not-for-me ban needs to be extended everywhere.

Lets see. Citizen is peaceably selling goods to willing customers. Citizen has not paid tribute to the All Powerful State. Armed agents of the state attempt to kidnap citizen. Citizen is armed against the wishes of the state. Citizen is shot and killed. State agent is hero.

    I got it now.

  2. The so-called 'businessman' and his 'business associates' would surround tourists' and demand money for a 'free' promotional rap CD of their making.

Sounds like they're pals with record industry with similar business tactics.

And a clean shoot for the officer involved, IMO.

One bad guy down, many more to go.

  3. "got off two shots before his weapon jammed"

"a very sophisticated, very lethal weapon"

So ugly and unreliable is the new sophisticated and lethal.

  5. Loki1776 - I was going to make the same comment.

The "authorized journalist" must have really fished for that comment - "This is a guy who carried into the streets of Times Square a very sophisticated, very lethal weapon" - which was comment was provided as "news."

Didn't an editor even review the story? Apparently, if it's a gun, and it's not in the hands of an "only one" it's "a very sophisticated, very lethal weapon."

    Even if it doesn't work.

  6. I love these news stories. They always talk about fire rate. Hell. If I put a happy switch on my Glock I could get a 1300 RPM fire-rate. Assuming the barrel hadn't melted into a pile of goo after the 100th shot or so.

  8. "The machine gun was a semiautomatic MAC 10..."
I emailed the news director of our local CBS station to explain the difference and suggest several web sites his people COULD consult for accuracy's sake.
It was mostly for the typing practice.
