Jeremy Engelking will appear in Douglas County court this afternoon to face a trespassing charge. But here’s the kicker: The Superior man allegedly trespassed on his own property. [More]Squeeze. Like only the "Only Ones" can.
What do you think, Sgt. Bob Smith and the rest of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department...
Do you think if someone you treat like this ever sees one of you in trouble he'll be inclined to help...you?

Duluth News Tribune were being dicks about it--even to the point of not allowing BugMeNot to work--so I Googled the opening text and found another source. Try it now.
ReplyDeleteI simply cannot believe some of the comments defending the cops, the company and trashing the land owner(s). One commeter got it right, the company tried to arbitrarily amend the contract to suit thier own purposes and the owners said NO!. You can see where that got them, arrested and now untold legal expenses to fight this whole fiasco. The company most likely is thinking it can bleed them to death before the Engelkings can prevail.
ReplyDeleteKarma will be a bitch on this one...
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like Sgt. Bob declared war on the citizens of Douglas County, in the name of the state and corporate alliance.
ReplyDeleteI know my response to that would not be to hire a lawyer. Sgt. Bob evidently doesn't know that the man walking point is a sacrifice to alert others that there are hostiles ahead. Let's hope he finds out the hard way.
That "officer" should have suffered the fatal consequences of his attack. Inexcusable behavior on his part. What's the point of having a contract if one side can alter it as it sees fit without the damaged party having any say? And then send enforcers to kill off the opposition (which would have happened if this man had resisted). It's just the US Constitution on a small scale.
ReplyDeleteSgt Bob must get a plain envelope in his mailbox every month.
ReplyDeleteThe pipeline people think they're in the credit card business, where your contract is meaningless and can be changed at any time.
