Import Ammo Ban?

It looks like those who said the Obama Administration would strike while the iron is hot may have been correct, and the Administration may be doing it in a way that does not require them to even get a vote in Congress. In this morning's edition of the Shooting Wire, Jim Shepherd writes that Canadian officials have it on "good authority" our State Department may be on the verge of cutting off all imports of certain calibers of ammunition. I'd heard stirrings on this, but held back because of this "rumor control" piece from NRA-ILA:
Additional rumors have recently been circulating about stopping gun and/or ammunition imports. And once again, NRA and representatives of firearm importers know of no real measures proposing this, yet.
Who knows what's going on?

Well, what have we here?

FREEZE, PUNK!

BANG! BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANG!

(Later):

Oh, it wasn't calibrated properly?

No matter, they acted in good faith.

And remember--with the "Only Ones," we're all suspects.

Y'know, if we don't make the perfect the enemy of the good, and if we realize politics is the art of the possible, and, darn it, knock off the extremism and work together, I'll just bet we can turn this around!

Thank You for Banking at Lightworker Federal

My parents and I came to this country in hopes of getting away from the socialism that gradually eats up and destroys everything that this nation is built upon: achievement, competition and freedom... and now, I'm right back in hell... [More]

A Blast from the Past

The February 1959 issue is up, and in addition to everything I love about going through these old issues, the classic ads, the prices, the reminder of a freer time, this one contains a wealth of sentiment that should cause modern readers to pause and reflect on... And now it's time for a shameless personal plug... "The Message of Mumbai" is my Rights Watch column for the April 2009 issue of Guns Magazine. [More]

This Day in History: February 18

I wish the Morris County Militia could be prevailed on to stay some time longer. The Enemy are certainly reinforced and will no doubt attempt in a few days to make their situation more comfortable; should they do so, we shall not be able to make an effectual opposition, if the Troops, now in Service, retire to their Homes, and they will again be reduced to that misery from which they were but just now relieved, merely by their exerting themselves manfully.
