More Lies from "The Gun Guys"

I have a policy of not linking to these disgusting lying subversives, but wanted to point something out. They wrote about Albert Kwan back in Dec. 2006, outlining all the charges against him and then promising:
We'll keep you updated, of course, when we hear more.
Well...?

I guess these punks can smear a man, but when time comes to own up to the truth, well, that just doesn't fit in with their agenda.

Only a Madman

According to Jan Libourel, the editor of Gun World magazine, "Nobody but a madman would oppose some sort of gun control laws." [More]
I need to read the article before I form a conclusion. I have not found it online.

One thing's for sure--taking the VPC at their word about anything would be an act of true madness.

In the Chips

In its October 2005 Federal Register notice, the State Department reassured Americans that the e-passport's chip would emit radio waves only within a 4-inch radius, making it tougher to hack.

But in May 2006, at the University of Tel Aviv, researchers directly skimmed an encrypted tag from several feet away. At the University of Cambridge in Britain, a student intercepted a transmission between an e-passport and a legitimate reader from 160 feet. [More]

Gunmen Invade AZ Restaurant!

A festive mood took over the "Arizonashooting.com's" monthly meeting Saturday night at the Hometown Buffet. [More]
Naturally, the enuretics are horrified.

Perhaps they read Prof. Volokh's newest paper, where he equates those trying to normalize open carry with "people who wear T-shirts that say 'I had an abortion.'"

Dumbest Moments in Authorized Journalism

OK, Beth Kowitt, Fortune reporter.

What smart thing would you do if you were attacked in the wilderness by something more powerful than you with murder on its mind?

I'm sure it would be something--what was the word Carolyn Maloney's equally vacuous aide used?

Wacky! [More]

To Each According to his Needs

"If that bill had passed it would have done it for this business and the others like it," Furbee said. "People wouldn't have needed a permit any more . . . and wouldn't have needed us." [More]
Get this straight, Furbee. I don't need you.

We're the Only Ones "Go Speed Racer, Go" Enough

A man killed Wednesday while apparently involved in a street race in Hercules was a San Francisco sheriff's deputy, a sheriff's department spokeswoman said. [More]

We're the Only Ones Showing Professional Courtesy Enough

Trooper Lee subsequently killed the audio recording of the stop (a major no-no), and then proceeded to let his two fraternal scofflaws off with no citations whatsoever. [More]

I especially like the one guy riding that fast while he's on paid sick leave.

To paraphrase Mel Brooks, "It's good to be an 'Only One.'"

A Substantial Burden

Assault weapons are no more useful for self-defense than are many other handguns, rifles, and shotguns that aren’t prohibited by assault weapons bans. Assault weapons bans might well be pointless, and might offend gun owners who want the freedom to choose precisely what sorts of guns they own. But this need not make assault weapons bans unconstitutional, if the courts focus on whether the law substantially burdens self-defense. [More]
Which makes me wonder why this is an approach you recommend, Professor.

It also makes me wonder about your qualifications to define tactical situations a citizen might find himself in, why you purposely put off discussing the tyranny-resisting potential enabled by the Second Amendment and avoid exploring founding intent.

So I can listen to you, or I can listen to, say, Mr. Coxe:
The power of the sword, say the minority of Pennsylvania, is in the hands of Congress. My friends and countrymen, it is not so, for THE POWERS OF THE SWORD ARE IN THE HANDS OF THE YEOMANRY OF AMERICA FROM SIXTEEN TO SIXTY. The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? are they not ourselves. Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American. What clause in the state or federal constitution hath given away that important right.... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the foederal or state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.
Freedom is much too important to leave to law professors. Even ones generally recognized as being on "our" side.

Palin on Dukes Show

Gun rights enthusiasts welcomed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as she made an appearance Friday on a radio talk show, whose callers included rock n' roller turned avid hunter Ted Nugent.

Palin spoke on the Michael Dukes' "Firearms Friday" show on KFAR radio in Fairbanks. She was in Alaska's second largest city to sign a gun rights bill and several resolutions. [More]
Good for you, Michael!

This is one guy I'd really like to see syndicated nationwide.

Gun Control Will Not Stop Youth Violence

Bottom line: so-called "gun control" doesn't work. Imposing more of it won't work, either. [More]

This Day in History: July 13

It is astonishing beyond expression, that you had heard nothing of St. Clair and the Army under him. I am totally at a loss to conceive what has become of them. The whole affair is so mysterious that it even baffles conjecture. I know not how to suppose it possible that they can be on any route towards us, without our hearing something of them, and even if they have been all taken prisoners, one would imagine, that the account of it by some channelor other, would have come to your knowledge.
