Illinois Governor - RepublicanDid someone say "highlights"?
Senator Kirk Dillard - Senator Dillard was selected for endorsement from a large and very qualified field of Republican hopefuls. The decision was very difficult in light of the fact that the field included a very good friend of the law-abiding gun owner - Senator Bill Brady, along with two other candidates with solid positions on gun rights. But, in the end, the ISRA-PVF board of directors decided that Sen. Dillard had the best hope of defeating anti-gun extremist, Jim Ryan, in the Primary Election. [More]
QUESTION: "Would you sign or veto legislation banning the sale and possession of semiautomatic assault-style weapons in Illinois?"OK, then.
...Kirk Dillard: "Without having more sufficient detail, including the definition of an "assault-style weapon," and for what circumstances the use of these weapons would be approved, this question is difficult to answer."

Remember the old toy commercial: "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down!"? He's a Weeble ...
ReplyDeletePersonally I don’t know what the ISRA/NRA is thinking here. Dillard for governor?
ReplyDeleteKirk Dillard almost got a semi-automatic gun ban bill SB1195 passed in Illinois because of his posturing and game playing.
Everyone thought Kirk Dillard was a strong pro-gun vote until that stunt in an Illinois Senate committee.
Why don’t people remember that? Dillard wanted to send a message to the NRA/ISRA and it almost backfired on Illinois gun owners.
If I remember right SB1195 came out of the Illinois Senate and was stopped by 1 vote.
People got so upset they began calling the Senators to stop the vote that it made then Senator Obama mad because they overwhelmed his office phone system and shut it down
GOA backs Patrick Hughes for US senator for Illinois but the ISRA/NRA doesnt offer a candidate choice
"...had the best hope of defeating anti-gun extremist..."
ReplyDeleteah, yes. voting against the other guy: the tactic that has been getting us into this mess since the 1780s. i'm sure it'll work this time.
at least, that's what IL republicans will tell themselves afterwards. "just imagine how bad it would have been with The Other Guy!" i keep hearing that same phrase from the mainstream media and the FED on why trillions of dollars were just handed over to wall street.
i wonder if there's any connection.
Illinois residents have become comfortable with a boot on their necks and will not surrender that comfort.
