It All Depends on the Meaning of the Word "Failure"

Failing to store firearms to protect...

...minors or pitchfork murderers?

I guess we don't have enough information to answer that. Other questions I can think of off the top of my head:

How old were the minors?

What kind of firearms training have they received?

Was anyone actually endangered? How?

And how did the "authoritahs" find out?

  1. I don't leave my guns out, but then again, my teens have their own keys to the gun locker. Leaving them defenseless in my absence is child endangerment. They are well-trained and expected to defend themselves and the rest of the family if the need arises. That's real gun control.

  2. Best answer I've come across on this subject, for kids the parents deem too young for direct access to firearms:

On the parents' hip, in a good holster.
