We often discuss why more "good cops" don't come forward. And while you may dismiss this as an overreaction to a symbolic gesture, remember that this guy knows full well what his "brethren" are capable of--and systemically allowed to get away with.
It still leaves the question of how safe citizens who live in the South Bronx are...
Ponder, for just a moment, on what all this really means and could lead to.

All of us know what the score is for Palestro's continued well-being of lack of same. What we can't figure out is why our slow-headed fellow citizens still claim to see a difference between the police and any other criminal street gang.

What I can't get is why this guy would want to continue this "career", now that he seems to get the idea that--revelation!--it's not about peace, or justice, or even brotherhood...it's about...what's that word they use for us...oh yeah, compliance.
