We're the Only Ones Skimming Enough

A former Shelby County narcotics detective has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for stealing money confiscated from drug dealers. [More]
What, you mean that's not considered armed robbery?

I certainly am glad he got off so lightly. Why, if that federal judge had treated him like someone really dangerous, say, Wayne Fincher or David Olofson, that could really erode some of the benefits of being an "Only One."

Hey, if the sentence is under a year, does that mean he's not a "prohibited person," either?

And in our continued confirmation that it's just a few bad apples, we must note:
Some four dozen area law enforcement officers from six agencies have been named in corruption cases in the past six years, often with cash-laden drug dealers as their targets.
Gee, you'd think such draconian punishments would discourage this sort of thing.

  1. It's that ROYALTY don't have to pay the price the commoners do. I mean, if they're not royalty, why do they get off light, or totally, and we get smacked down? Oh, I forgot. We LET them play this game. Excuuuuuuuuuuse me. I'm just a commom person. By their leave, of course.

"...stealing money confiscated from drug dealers"

"...suspected of skimming drug money seized in traffic stops and from search warrants served on suspected dealers"

    Suspected or not?
Let's be real here: This guy was seizing cash from - if exposes of this bullshit practice are any guide - mostly INNOCENT people, especially at traffic stops. This is the War on Drugs right here, a license to steal and kill, and the pre-cursor for the usurpations that folks like David, Balko and others document every day.

The pro-Only Ones bias is on full display here and unfortunately most non-critically thinking mouth breathers will fall for this line and wonder what the problem is. "Hey they're just drug dealers, so what?..."
