The indictment of a former police officer on charges he stole cash from people he pulled over follows a city probe that led to his firing. [More]Aren't you supposed to be able to shoot highwaymen?
If a non-"Only One" did this, would armed robbery/use/presence of a firearm in the commission of a crime charges not apply?
And why can't I get the damned Dennis Moore song out of my head?

ReplyDeleteThe absolute very worst part of this is that if he had been killed by his victim while he was committing armed robbery, the victim is the one who would be punished to death for stopping the crime against himself.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention after they gave him thirty days in the electric chair, they do it again if he happened to have videotaped proof that he was acting in defense of self and his property against this armed robber.
Here is my email to Police Chief Conlon titled Michael J. Darrah:
ReplyDeleteI have only a very easy question for the chief. What would be your reaction to any citizen who had shot and killed the armed robber who was in your employ at the time he committed his crimes?
I am not suggesting that you condone Darrah's actions, but can you truthfully say you would have believed any of his victims had they shot this armed robber in uniform? Can you really say you wouldn't have gone after them hammer and tongs?
I await your answer. If you have the courage to answer, please do so honestly.
