Meanwhile, Over in Furious Mike Paradise...

The citywide murder rate has increased 22.8% in the first 11 weeks of the year over the same period in 2009, from 79 homicides to 97 as of Sunday, the most recent day for which statistics are available.

Shootings in general are also up citywide...[More]

Maybe if they implemented...oh, I don't know...some kind of gun control...

  1. If you're going to blame NYC's strict gun laws for not preventing a spike in gun crime, you gotta give them credit for the huge decrease in crime over the past decade or so. As much as as you may want it, you can't have it both ways...

  2. Ah, but the gun laws did NOT cause the drop in crime. In fact, the furious one has made a cottage industry out of demonizing Virginia for "supplying" the guns used in the out of control gun crime in NYC.

So, getting back to your point of not having it both ways....

Excuse me. The reason for a "huge" decrease in crime over the last decade??? Gimme a break.

NY City has become the tightest Police State Zone in the USA. You have the Commissioner disciplining cops for NOT making bad arrests, so much that the cops are enraged at the city for making them target, ticket and arrest vast quotas of innocent Police Gang victims.

Gun Control does nothing to stop crime. Your ridiculous NYC Police State puts a damper on misdemeanor crime, but the Wall Street crowd is certainly showing America how easy it is to rob banks and get paid by the taxpayer for doing it.

NYC needs to be erased from the map, like say, Detroit.

  4. A spike in murders and whatnot gives the power brokers a perfect excuse to exercise their authority over the sheep.

To borrow a phrase, "...which is the way he wants it. Well, he gits it."

New Yorkers, when will you be ready to live as free men?
