"Texas is just a sensible place to live. It's a sensible place that takes sensible approaches to issues like gun rights," he said. "We treat our citizens like adults in this state. Too bad Washington doesn't take that approach." [More]Why should they when y'all are partnering with them?
sensible gun laws? I think not.
ReplyDeleteWhat crap! Both of them are from the "conservative" end, of the FDR wing, of the LBJ branch, of the Dead Elephant Party.
ReplyDeleteThey are both big government power brokers with plastic faces.
Loyal and Patriotic Texans, (and I can say this 'cause I was raised in Odessa) vote for Debra Medina!
Debra has my vote.
ReplyDeleteYou mean those Tx adults you don't trust with openly carried firearms?
ReplyDeleteSensible gun laws??
ReplyDeleteTexans may legally carry a long gun just about anywhere )with some restricted places) as long as some squeamish jackass doesn't try to convince the police that he felt threatened by the gun.
Up until the last legislative session it was illegal to carry a handgun outside property under one's own control without a concealed carry permit unless one was traveling and "traveling" was open for whatever definition the police, prosecutor, and judge happened to agree upon at the trial.
Texans can now legally carry a handgun to and from their vehicles and in their vehicles without a concealed carry permit. But, the handgun has to be concealed from open view.
The latest Texas legislature had bills introduced for open carry and bills similar to Montana, and Tennessee that would have told the feds to leave firearms manufactured and sold within the state alone. These bills died in committee.
Trying to get more sensible but surely not there yet.

Seems they only have no real trouble with Washington spending our money. As long as Texas gets its "fair share" of it, they're happy.
ReplyDeleteI nearly choked on the bit about Texas treating people like "adults." Sure...
