An Amicable Split

Firearms possession issue splits Finland [More]
I have the perfect solution and it couldn't be easier: Those of you who don't want guns, don't have guns. And leave those who do the hell alone.

  1. NO.

Those who don't want guns will threaten to use guns against those who want to peaceable keep them.

Left this comment there.: The reason Finns do not speak Russian as their official language is because of ownership of guns and the Finnish expertise with them. Why would Finland let the police do what the military might of the USSR could not?

As the article pointed out, 1,950% more people die yearly in Finland from sauna misadventures than from firearms. Why are the police not interested in stopping that? Why?

Well, because accidentally dying in a sauna does not present a danger to police who wish to abuse you, while being armed just might.

Despite sauna deaths being by far the more serious problem nothing is being done to address that issue. Therefore the claims of "public safety" ring false. No one needs another to be unarmed and helpless unless he has evil intent for that other.

will add the above to comments at the article.
