Feds Sabotaging Clean Up

The governor said he didn't have the authority to overrule the Coast Guard's decision... [More]
Sure you do.

And you have the resources, too.

The Coast Guard would have inspected those barges in harbor well before now. This clearly is a case of the Feds being pissed off that someone is cleaning up Obama's "crisis". Obama and the democrats actually want this to become a global disaster so he can use it against "Big Oil" so they can continue to turn America into a third world socialist hell.

  2. Crotalus, I agree, I have wondered from the beginning of this bullshit why a ship designed from the bottom up to respond to oil spills did not exist. It's such a simple concept I can come up with it. Using a high volume pump, suck up the oil, centrifuge separate the oil from water and solids, filter the water and discharge it overboard, and send the oil for processing. Not at all difficult, yet no such thing seems to be operating. Damn, we sure have a lot of government interference in good old country boy ingenuity.

  3. Louisiana is being sacrificed for the "greater good" of imposing a carbon tax. Never let a serious crisis go to waste.

I wonder if there are enough spills to make dedicated purpose ships profitable? Otherwise, such ships would have to be built on the model of fire trucks. A tax supported public safety function. If you're Louisiana and you have these huge fishing and oil economies side by side, surely, such a public safety measure would make sense. It would take a lot of such ships, and anything that sits in salt water is expensive to maintain.

They should have burnt the damn stuff when they first had the chance.

  4. The USCG needs to go piss up a rope!!!! We have the right to respond to this disaster. We do not need anybody's permission to protect our people, water and wildlife!!!! When the CG gives the order to stop, the barges need to give them the finger and keep working. If the CG wants to trade bullets with Americans then let's have at it!!! I'm sick and tired of this tapdance from our gub'mint!!!

Jindal should have put LNG troops on the barges with orders to insure that they remained working.
