We're the Only Ones All Wet Enough

Clear Creek sheriff's deputies on Thursday arrested a rafting guide for swimming to a stranded young rafter who had tumbled from his boat on Clear Creek.

Ryan Daniel Snodgrass, a 28-year-old guide with Arkansas Valley Adventures rafting company, was charged with "obstructing government operations," said Clear Creek Sheriff Don Krueger. [More]

Who does he think he is? An "Only One"? Doesn't he know that only government operators are qualified and mere citizens are never to make life-and-death decisions without authorization?

  1. Underlying offense: "Making the police look bad." Some jurisdictions now have laws forbidding the videotaping of police, so "Making the police look bad" is now an actual crime in many places in the US.
