How’s this for an ill-conceived emergency preparedness drill? An off-duty cop pretending to be a terrorist stormed into a hospital intensive care unit brandishing a handgun, which he pointed at nurses while herding them down a corridor and into a room. [More]Seeing as how all guns should always be treated as if they are loaded and you should never point them at anything you're not willing to destroy, it would have been well within the rights of any of these victims or a witness to it to blow this fool away.
What the hell is wrong with such people? Who would do something like this?
Right--"Only Ones".
And why no criminal assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping charges, and charges for conspiracy?
Right--"Only Ones."

The cop is damned lucky he isn't dead.
ReplyDeleteHowever, he isn't lucky enough to not be stupid.
ReplyDeleteThe Law of Unintended Consequences could have been a big factor here. I know some nurses who carry a weapon in their purse for the walk from their car to the hospital, securing the purses in their lockers while working. Their attitude is the day that the weapons were used that they would be fired from their jobs, but they would go home alive to cry about themselves instead of someone else crying for them.
