North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue, that is, in a comment left on today's GRE post...
A recurring troll may have gone too far this time (click image to enlarge):
Evil anti-defense fanatics trying to smear us as violent, and provocateurs trying to either pass themselves off as one of us or incite something are pretty much employing a tired old tactic, but that doesn't stop genius boy here. It's all he's got.
Thing is, I can't say for certain that he's not serious--can you? If he said this about the president, I would fully expect a Secret Service investigation.
And while I have not reported this to law enforcement, reporting it to WoG/GRE readers is what I do--if this somehow catches the attention of someone tasked with investigating terror threats, well, I guess they'll look into it. And I guess if they ask me about this, I'll have to show them all the countless other comments I've deleted, with dates, times and links, and let them know about other websites where someone with an identical MO has also left comments that make me believe they're from the same individual. Maybe with all those records to check, they'll be able to home in on this sick piece of refuse and identify him.
I imagine if someone wanted to contact Gov. Bev Perdue's office about this, they could do that here. And I'm sure if her investigators thought it worth following up on, they'd know who in the federal government to consult about the interstate nature of this cyberthreat.
Definitely a different flavor than the usual commenter. Not constructive at all.

ReplyDeletePERDUE'S LIE
Gov. Perdue's office has been issuing various denials to input about the gun ban implications of the SoE, but the most blatant misstatement is this:
" After checking with legal counsel, we are pleased to inform you that THE CURRENT STATE OF EMERGENCY WAS WRITTEN IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE RIGHTS OF NC GUN OWNERS ARE NOT INFRINGED UPON. . However, local authorities still have the authority to establish states of emergency within their jurisdictions that may impact your right to carry weapons."
GRNC lawyer points out tha the law in its entirety as written is in force, and that includes the no-guns provision. More at earlier Hurricane Earl story here on WoG. Sorry, didn't see a link or the alert on RGRNC.org. Got it from friends in NC by email.
The statement from Gov. Perdue is a fine example of CYA doubletalk as in,:
ReplyDelete"MY admin isn't going to interfere w/ the right of North Carolinians to KABA, oh no, but I also won't interfere w/ the right of localities to do so if it suits them. See, I'm protecting EVERYONE'S rights!"
Ya gotta luv a pol w/ a sense of humor......right into the unemployment line AFTER, of course, a vigorous application of tar & feathers!
