Why are some gun owners afraid of permitless concealed carry?

Politics, we are told, as if majority opinion is the final determinant of liberty, is the art of the possible. What envelope the safe-players have pushed to know what's truly possible remains unsaid. Can you imagine where we'd be if our history was one of avoiding risks? [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column tries to push some buttons in order to push some envelopes.

  1. Good subject, David.
One would THINK that with even hoop-jumping permit holders getting increasing abuse nationwide, people would go whole-hog for the original liberty we used to have but have been convinced to surrender piecemeal by our "allies" and "experts."

  2. Nobody really wants to speak the truth. A person can carry any gun anywhere, anytime... it's just a decision by that person as to whether or not they want to obey the law.

I asked my anti-gun friend to tell me where guns should not be allowed and who should not be allowed to have them: felony criminal - I showed him case after case where felons had guns and used them; no guns in schools, I showed him case after case of guns in schools...

THE LAW CONTINUALLY PUTS MY LIFE AT RISK BY DISARMING ME IN CERTAIN PLACES OR SITUATIONS - ONE WHO FOLLOWS THE LAW, IN FAVOR OF THE LIFE OF AN ARMED CRIMINAL, ONE WHO DOES NOT FOLLOW THE LAW.

I think the second amendment should be as unrestricted or more than they have allowed the first!

  3. I have applied for a CCW 3 times in 15 years in Contra Costa County, CA., a county where the sheriff, Warren Rupff grants permits to his personal friends and requires long term campaign contributions and sheriff possee membership as a pre requisite if you hope for consideration.

3 rejections (and an indignantly rejected appeal of a rejection) at a cost of $500 each.

I have 2 advanced degrees, NO Criminal record (obviously), home owner, business owner, 4 kids with long term straight A's (which tells what is going on in my house) lived in this county for 45 years and there is NOTHING I can do to get a CCW

I have done everthing possible to comply and get a permit and I have been unreasonably denied. If I ever get arrested for carrying I will sue the sheriff over the denials

    FUCK EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ....SHALL NOT BR INFRINGED!

  4. I'm all for it. In fact I make it a point to have my NAA mini revolver in my pocket everytime I stop by the Post Office to buy a stamp. When I leave I stop over by the bulletin board and look over all the notices they have about not having guns anywhere on the property and then leave.

  5. Bottom line: 'permit holders' fancy themselves 'only ones', ergo screw you.
