Witnesses say the would-be carjacker, identified by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office as Kenyon Reese Jr., 20, of Detroit, shot the victim, who fell to the ground, pulled out his own pistol, and returned fire. [More]
If only we could--I don't know--hold a vigil or something...
I'm sure Reese was "a good kid" who "never had a chance" and just "ran with the wrong crowd" and "made poor decisions" due to "lack of opportunities." He would have been an Eagle Scout and a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Peace Corps except for the "easy availability of firearms." In fact, they would have renamed it the Nobel REESE Prize... (Sob!) All our fault.
College student shot for driving away? Reminds me of the cop shooting nine times at the SUV that barely bumped his car as he was cruising a parking lot for a guy who didn't pay for two breakfast sandwiches.
