What's really bitchin' is that if the new Congress repeals the hostile take-over of the medical insurance industry immediately upon arrival, the dependents will riot, and if they don't, the payers will riot when they're financially destroyed. And even if neither of those immediate scenarios happen, everyone will riot when the collapse gains momentum as wages are unable to keep pace with devaluation.
See, we don't have to lose all our income, just enough to breach a side of the Iron Triangle so that the house or the car is lost, then the job is lost--any leading to the loss of the remaining two--and the primary focus becomes survival.
I posted my happy medium plan on blogs after the 2008 elections, but we're a few buy-outs, bailouts and vote procurements beyond that now. If state governments were really interested in protecting the rights of their tax cows, they would intervene and block capitation taxes, directing the money first through state coffers. Residents are citizens of states first and foremost, and if the central government gets too violent, then the states have the option to starve the leviathan.
Not gonna happen. The primary results show that most places in the country plan on replacing an incumbent with a statist-progressive that has identical goals. (If they're not specific on issues and goals, just assume statism.) The only thing that's going to change on November 3rd is that your master will have a different name.
