We're the Only Ones Not Snitching Enough

The failure to protect whistle-blowing cops is inexcusable. [More]
I guess those whose profession involves so much relying on snitches would know...

What I don't get is, if it's only "a few bad apples," why is this even an issue?

    Bingo. If it was only a few bad apples, then it'd be the bad cop who would have to worry about being snubbed socially, being subjected to malicious mischief and sabotage, and being left hanging when he needs backup, not the good cop willing to expose a bad one.
