Not being familiar with the Smith & Wesson Springfield .40-caliber handgun, although he said it was his personal gun that he also uses for work, "he thought if he pulled the trigger the magazine would seat properly," Glickauf told police. [More]Doesn't he know that in order for that to work, you need to first be pointing it at your five-year-old?
I've always found pulling the trigger to be an effective, albeit loud way to unload a firearm.
ReplyDelete"...he completed the required 40-hour prebasic training..."
ReplyDeleteWTH is that?!?!
If you need to be trainined before basic training you're an oxygen thief.
Now now, I think we can conclude the matter very simply, by immediately issuing him one of these.
ReplyDeleteThat was a painfully tense experience to watch--I kept waiting for and anticipating the inevitable...
ReplyDeleteLast I heard Smith & Wesson, and Springfield were not the same company.
ReplyDeleteI know my Springfield XD-40 does not say anywhere on it Smith & Wesson
Aw, too bad. A little higher and he could have won the Darwin award. Better luck next time offisker. Heh heh heh...
ReplyDeleteCan anyone explain how he magically chambered a round my reinsertig the magazine? Unless he slid that dohickey thing.
ReplyDeleteSteve, the usual explanation for that scenario is that "drop magazine, rack slide" becomes "rack slide, drop magazine". (And that is being generous in presuming that he's not simply lying about all of it.)
ReplyDeleteEven that mistake only draws blood if you simultaneously ignore Rules Two and Three, along with One.
