Well, They Can't Say They Don't Know...

...about this.

That's every newspaper and TV station in Louisiana that I could find, less the ones I had to contact via their website form. I don't know why some of them make contact so difficult--it's almost like they're afraid they might get a news tip or something. In any case, a few of these addresses bounced, but most were delivered and they all know their competitors have been informed.

Curious, that a bill being introduced to provide for guns in state parks isn't even considered "news" that merits a passing mention. Ah well, we'll see if being prodded like this in front of each other spurs some interest--and if it does, whether or not they'll mention their source.

Also curious is the lack of interest in the "gun blogger" community. Maybe I'm mistaken, this isn't newsworthy after all, and I should just stop pushing it, but in any case, thanks, PolyKahr.

The final bit of curiosity is the utter silence from the "gun rights groups."

Not invented here...?

GRE Round Up for Mar. 23

There's some good stuff being turned out. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

Here are their latest offerings:

Howard Nemerov/Austin:
Think before sending: Some emails damage gun rights

Paul Valone/Charlotte:
8th District Republican Tim D'Annunzio speaks on guns, Constitution

Daniel White/Cleveland:
One Ohio newspaper says 'it's not broke don't fix it' of Ohio's gun laws

Dan Bidstrup/Denver:
56 hours and still no news about shooting at the Tanner Gun Show in Denver.....

Steve D. Jones/Fort Smith:

Unanimous Approval

In the end, the Brady Bill was only able to pass during Thanksgiving break, when a mere three Senators were present to vote on it. All three supported the bill, prompting Vice President Al Gore, then presiding over the Senate, to declare the bill's "unanimous" passing. [More]

Yeah, dance with 'em. That'll solve everything.

The Only True Solution?

The pre-dawn discovery of two bodies cut into pieces and shoved into two black bags brought a tragic end Monday to a search for two missing police officers in the southern state of Guerrero. [More]
If only they would infringe on our right to keep and bear arms, none of this would happen...?

A Fundamental Right

Universal Gun Care for every American. [More]
While there is Constitutional authority to arm the militia, we do have to be careful about disparaging "right[s] NOT found the Constitution..." (just see Amendment IX).

Of course we have a right to health care. Government has no authority to prevent us from getting it. We just don't have a right to demand anyone else pay for it.

And uh-uh on the "mandate."

But aside from that...

Ready for Consideration

Gun-rights activists say Arizona legislation to allow carrying of concealed weapons without a permit say it should be ready for Senate consideration early in the coming week. [More]
What's to consider?

"For the Children"

The 41-year-old attacker struck in the morning as students arrived for classes, mingling with parents at the school gates before suddenly pulling out his knife and slashing children, according to witnesses interviewed on local television. [More]
And why didn't the "mingling" parents immediately drop this mad dog in his tracks?

Oh...that's right...

Forget I asked. It was a stupid question.

Say, what's with that "$126.50 bail" and reassignment to a "desk job"? Don't you think you're being a little harsh with him? I mean, every time I've pulled a gun on an Illinois LEO, I didn't face anything nearly as severe.
