GRE Round Up for Apr. 28

There's some good stuff being turned out by the Gun Rights Examiners. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

Here are their latest offerings:

Dan Bidstrup/Denver:
Answering a college student about guns on campus

John Longenecker/Los Angeles:
Safer Streets 2010: More statist hate for America

Dave Workman/Seattle:
Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:

Short on Details

But hey, we already got the headlines and hysteria we were looking for. [More]

It's Ali-i-ive!

Quite some Frankenstein monster you "progressives" have set loose on the world.

Not that I think Rachel Maddow's open-minded enough to rethink why we villagers just might want to hold onto those pitchforks and torches...

We're the Only Ones Off-Target Enough

Oklahoma City police officer shot by another aiming at charging dog [More]
How come this never happens to Cesar Millan?

Don't you just hate it when the "Only Ones" miss a perfectly good opportunity to kill a family pet, especially when its actions afterward show it wasn't really committed to an attack? Anybody read of any OKC dog maulings, now that it's escaped "into the wild"?

We're the Only Ones Giving Back to Our Community Enough

A jury has convicted a former northwest Ohio police chief of stealing firearms that belonged to his department. [More]
Well, I guess "selling," not "giving," but you get the idea...

We're the Only Ones Double Our Pleasure Enough

See, it's not that he didn't get off on the kiddie porn, it's that after withdrawing his guilty plea, re-sentencing was deemed to equate double jeopardy... [Read]

We're the Only Ones Tossed Enough

Judge tosses arrest of cop accused in fatal DUI crash [More]
No wonder Daley wants to keep his subjects disarmed.

Maybe the family could seek a change of venue?

We're the Only Ones Award-Winning Enough

Award-winning Ridgeland Police Officer commits perjury in DUI case, leaves town. [More]
Aren't the "Only Ones" who win awards typically considered the very best they've got?

I Don't Have to Show You Any Stinking Badges

A discussion was going on about open carry at a group I belong to. One of the posters suggested a badge on the belt typically reassures the sheeple they have nothing to fear--everything is "authorized." Speculations were then offered as to what type of insignia could be worn to keep the herd from stampeding.

I thought about that for a minute and came up with this:
I thought about if for another minute, and decided what's good enough for legendary character actor Alfonso Bedoya is good enough for me.

The children are just going to have to grow up. If they don't, it's up to the adults to regain control.

Enforce the Second Amendment?

Really?

What a novel idea...

Of course, we actually wanted it enforced all the way, not just little half-measures to burnish John McCain's "conservative" creds, "principles freaks" that we were...

Honor

Bob Wright explains. [Watch]

Guy's the real deal.

Consider the Alternatives

There's this approach:
Texas gov. shoots, kills 'wily' coyote during jog
And then there's this approach:
Canadian folk singer killed by coyotes, park official says
Oh dear, I so hate having to make tough decisions...

Perhaps we should let others make them for us?

Daley's hatred for right to keep and bear arms takes dangerous globalist turn

That seems a pretty dangerous and irresponsible thing to do to people who want to be left alone. [More]
This latest crap from this little dictator warranted a second Gun Rights Examiner column.

There's a solution of sorts in here, but I doubt anyone will try it.

A Change of Venue

Daley: Send gun industry lawsuit to World Court [More]
How about instead we send you to a citizen tribunal? I'd actually assign that more legitimate authority.

Say you do this, Tim-Tom, and let's say they rule in your favor.

How is the World Court going to enforce U.S. citizen disarmament? Because once you establish precedent against gun manufacturers, what's to stop the expansion of "rulings"?

How many men like me are you willing to have your armed followers try to kill? And what are we supposed to be doing while they try?

Who is the dangerous radical extremist revolutionary here? Who, by abandoning the Constitution to enact foreign control, proves himself to be the one who is "anti-government"? Who is the hater?

Who is the one trying to start a civil war?

What a traitor. What a domestic enemy. What a punk.

You too, Nutter.

A Star is Born

Speakers included NRA executive vice president Wayne La-Pierre...[More]
Just so we're clear--even though their headquarters is right down the road in Fairfax, they couldn't spare anyone to address the national Second Amendment March--but they could set up a recruiting tent there.

There's Staunch and ThenThere's STAUNCH

The first LiveFreePA event was held last year and featured legendary guitarist Ted Nugent, a staunch advocate for hunting and gun rights. [More]
So the "unaffordable speaking fee" was waived?

OK Senator Calls Governor's Reasons for Vetoing Firearms Freedom Act 'Absurd'

So whether you're for or against the FFA strategy, gun owners deserve to know just how much distance the "800 Lb. gorilla" of the gun rights movement intends to keep. Specifically, Brad Henry is claiming an "A" rating, yet he gives a string of buzzword-seeded excuses that sounds like it was scripted by the Brady Campaign. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner asks a question about ratings that we ought to have an answer to.

This Day in History: April 28

Unable to sail on it's own, the Drake was taken in tow. By April 28th, the ship was again made seaworthy and sent off with a prize crew. The capture of the Drake, the first British warship to be defeated and captured by Americans, increased the furor over all the dastardly actions of the Americans from Whitehaven to the capture of Drake.
