GRE Round Up for May 21

There's some good stuff being turned out by the Gun Rights Examiners. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

Here are their latest offerings:

Mike Stollenwerk/DC:
Most states allow gun carry in airports

Dave Workman/Seattle:
‘Sanctuary city’ philosophy: Disarm citizens, protect criminals

Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:
Go. Read. And please share these links.

You're doing that, right?

So Much for THAT Approach

A team of more than 3,000 "behaviour detection" officers hired to spot terrorists at US airports have failed to catch a single person despite costing the taxpayer $200 million (£140 million) last year. [More]
What the hell--let's just put 'em all on a watchlist--something's bound to stick...

We're the Only O...Wow, You Have an Earring Down There! Enough

Good grief. [Read]

But hey, I guess when you give them the idea that they own you...and that you can't lift a finger...

Nevada Gun Rights Survey Update!

With early voting starting in just a couple of days…. we have some updates to our questionnaire...[More]
Make sure your gun owner friends in Nevada know about this?

My Pursuit of Happiness

Barbara Jones, another council member said "I understand the Second Amendment allows you to bear arms; however my 'pursuit of happiness' and ability to live my life safely seems to be taking a back seat to those who run around with concealed weapons" [More]
Nothing like giving a say to the most ignorant and prejudiced among us...

We're the Only Ones "Not for Publication" Enough

Try and stop it. [Read]

CliffsNotes version:
The 9th Circuit upheld a $3.7 million verdict against Oakland, Calif., and two of its officers who were accused of planting an assault rifle on a parolee's property.
Nice.

So these "Only Ones" are still on the street? And presumably more trustworthy in the eyes of Ken James and his fellow Chiefs for Disarming "Those People" than you or I?

Every Move You Make

Oh can't you see...

You belong to me... [Read]

At least that seems to be the presumption...

Achtung Jugend! Snitch Scouts Wants YOU!

Junior Gauleiters? Is "best American" anything like "good German"?

This is a goof, right? This can't possibly be for real.

I mean the creators are named "George" and "Winston"...

More Rape Kits Less Crime?

U.S. Rep. John Conyers used his sway as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee to call today for legislation – and additional funding – to reduce the mammoth backlog of rape kits processing in Detroit and across the nation. [More]
That Conyers might be considered a rapist's best friend doesn't seem to factor into the discussion, does it?

Some things are broken and can't be fixed.

Gary North wrote an excellent summation of what has destroyed Detroit, and shows how expanding "progressive" policies will spread the misery to all of us. Policies exemplified by that miserable Marxist Conyers. And his criminal wife.

Once More Into the Breach, Dear Friends...

Foreign 'terrorists' breach U.S. border [More]
And wouldn't a Beslan scenario play right into the hands of some...?

No Extra Rules for Military

INHOFE INTRODUCES GUN BILL TO PROTECT SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS OF SOLDIERS, EMPLOYEES OF DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE [More]
When I read that, my first thought was, "Oh, great, just what we need--more "Only Ones."

But it's not that at all. It prohibits requiring extra bending over.

This is a good thing.

Then Unchamber Them

Three Democrats who earlier voted for the bill were not in the chamber when the override attempt occurred.

Five of the 62 Republicans voted against overriding the veto. One Republican member was not in the chamber. [More]

Identify them and make sure they're permanently not in the chamber.

Stay Classy, Tim-Tom

No wonder this anally-fixated garden gnome doesn't trust others with guns. [Watch]

American Gun Owners Should Say 'Gracias, Presidente Calderón!'

An ad campaign to produce the same effect would no doubt cost millions, and I doubt the reaction would be as visceral and as unifying as the one I'm seeing. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at an unintended consequence.

Also see the effects of a proposed treaty.
