"My Demands"

This looks like the website of the nutjob in MD. I had to grab it off Google cache because the regular url is timing out.

Hmmm--an anti-human environmentalcase.

Why doesn't that surprise me?

I guess none of the hostages had "a 'good and substantial reason' to carry a handgun, including a finding that the permit is 'necessary as a reasonable precaution against apprehended danger.'”

Why doesn't the fact that he chose unarmed victims surprise me either?

UPDATE: Looks like it took another man with a gun to resolve things. That's non-surprise #3.

California gun bills fail

"It was a fight down to midnight, but in the late hours of August 31, AB 1810, AB 1934, and AB 2358 were DEFEATED!" [More]
Happy news warranted a second Gun Rights Examiner column today.

Dead

All three Democrat sponsored anti gun rights bills are dead....As of midnight August 31st, all non-urgency, non-budget bills which were not passed by both houses died. [More]
I'll need to find out more, but this is a pretty good write-up and it looks like some of the Republicans were real champs.

"Start with Trust"

And it appears these folks can't be. [Read]

No wonder they don't trust us.

I seem to remember discussing this before some months back, but I can't find it now--maybe I just saw it on someone else's blog...

We're the Only Ones "Not My Job" Enough

"My wife screamed at him, 'Help! My daughter needs CPR,'" Michael said.

He said the uniformed man "smirked" and replied, "I don't do CPR." [More]

Huh? What? No, the "mystery man" doesn't work here. That couldn't have been one of our cars.

Hey, Sarge, can I have a work order form? Yeah, my dash cam went on the fritz yesterday...

We're the Only Ones Licentious Enough

You know what else we need?

Gun licensing!

It could be a gold mine!

We're the Only Ones "Have You Seen Me?" Enough

Police officials said Shea had financial difficulties and had access to a department-issued firearm, and they were worried about his well-being.

“We’re concerned about his state of mind,’’ Harrington said. “We don’t know why he’s missing and still hasn’t shown up.’’ [More]
There's your case for citizen disarmament right there. Imagine how much more worrisome one of us non-"Only Ones" experiencing financial difficulties might be.

Thank goodness the Brookline Police have the power to prevent this from happening, and to make sure that officer safety will prevail in any encounter Shea might have with "law-abiding citizens."

Will only criminals oppose proposed Portland gun edicts?

"All five are aimed at curbing illegal gun use. And there's no reason why anyone in Oregon, except criminals, should be opposed to doing that."

Well, sure there are. Lots of them. And good ones. [More]

Today's Gun Rights Examiner column concludes that all depends on the meaning of the word "criminal."

This Day in History: September 1

Under date of September 1, 1778, Articles 11 and 12 were formally suppressed pursuant to the declarations given below. The original French declaration, which is in French only, and a copy of the American declaration (which is said to be in part in the handwriting of Franklin) are in the Department of State file; but the copy is neither correct nor complete. There is now also in the file a facsimile of the original American declaration, obtained from the French archives; and from this, which is in both languages, the text here is printed. [More]
