"This American obsession with guns is not found in other countries..."
Note from Captain Obvious: if a gun obsession were to be found in another country, it would be that country's obsession. American obsessions are unique to America, just as Japanese obsessions are unique to Japan.
The American obsession is to *own* guns; the Japanese obsession is to prohibit them.
The freedom "obsession" is what makes us Americans. Being an armed American is what makes us dangerous to those who would deny us that freedom.

ReplyDeleteI just ran across this link via the wikipedia entry on Gun_politics_in_Switzerland, but don't remember what led me there.
Unfortunately, many of the "open doors to the world" are marked "EXIT".
