    Note from Captain Obvious: if a gun obsession were to be found in another country, it would be that country's obsession. American obsessions are unique to America, just as Japanese obsessions are unique to Japan.

    The American obsession is to *own* guns; the Japanese obsession is to prohibit them.

    The freedom "obsession" is what makes us Americans. Being an armed American is what makes us dangerous to those who would deny us that freedom.
