Although not a done deal, this should come out of the committee and pass the house but I take nothing for granted when it comes to politics. In the senate, it has a far less chance of passing with it being ruled by Sen Gronstal.
ReplyDeleteWe have our share of hoplophobes that have the megaphone of the Des Moines Register newspaper on their side. Gun bans are being passed throughout the state by cities and counties, in direct contradiction of state law. (Our attorney general issued an opinion stating it's okay, law be damned.)
The gun rights battle has been even more active since the first of the year here.
The amendment process to the state Constitution: it must be passed by both the house and the senate twice, (this session and the next session after the next election) and then voted on by the citizens.
