Without the Express Written Consent of Major League Baseball

MLB warning teams about Chicago violence [More]
Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.

I've reached the point where I can muster no sympathy for anyone who would vote for a Richard Daley or a Rahm Emmanuel...

  1. Sympathy? But the Chi-town voters are dead. What do they care?

  2. Back in 82 my wife and I were window-shopping on the State St. Mall when our path was blocked by three Afro-American communists bent upon re-distributing some wealth. One of them pulled what appeared to be a chef's knife out of his jacket pocket. I pulled what appeared to be a Colt Trooper III .357 revolver out of my jacket pocket. I saw six huge white eyeballs lock on, heard "Shit, a cop!" and they vacated the area at near-supersonic speed. Good thing for me that there were no cops in the area.

There are a lot of Chicago citizens who carry concealed without the express written consent of the Iron Mayor. Too bad their vote doesn't outweigh the Stupid vote.

wv: "worth" Yeah, it was worth it.

  3. How many more police officers on the street would it take to make Chicago safe?

Is that question anything like "How many angels can dance on the head of pin?"?

Passing a law that would enable all adult non-felons to carry a weapon openly or concealed without fear of arrest would change the outcome of at least one flash mob encounter. How many encounters occur after that first unexpected outcome depends on how lucky the participants feel.

And yes, major calibers with large capacity magazines would be desirable as well as at least spare magazines and the ability to hit what you aim for and to reload quickly. Any similarity in appearance to a video-game zombie apocalypse encounter may be intentional.

Besides, felons cannot vote, not even dead ones.
