We're the Only Ones Professionally Discourteous Enough

Good for her. [Read and watch]

And the hell with all the "Only One" apologists who say she overreacted. If one of them had pulled over one of us for the same violation, we'd have been lucky to survive the encounter.  And it would have all been chalked up to following standard protocol.

Thing is, I don't know anyone who speeds down the road at 120 and then runs from traffic cops...that's the kind of behavior ordinarily associated with...criminals.

  1. Nah, nah...you don't understand, see? Trooper Watts stopped Officer Lopez from doing what he wanted, see? Lopez wears the colors, see? He's a member in good standing, see? Donna Watts now gonna have to pay the vig, see? Yah, dats how it is... You don't go messin with the gang.

In all seriousness, it isn't like Trooper Watts stopped a mere mortal, you know, a "civilian", going 120 mph. When a Mere mortal does it, there is extreme danger to the public. When a Law Imposement Officer does it, he's surrounded by an invisible teflon bubble of appropriateness.

A mere mortal, a "civilian", faces the very real prospect of being shot dead if he doesn't assume the whipped puppy posture (head down, whimper, expose belly, piss on self). A Law Imposement Officer fully expects a delightful surprise at recognition, and a hearty, "Alright then, y'all have a nice day. We got'cher back, good buddy!"

Surely I must be wrong, but it seems as though most in Law Imposement are much like Officer Lopez. He expected to violate the traffic statutes and get away with it because he wears a super hero costume and bears a magic shield. I shouldn't believe my lying eyes, should I? Shouldn't I just believe the warm fuzzy myth of the "really good guy who just wants to do the right thing"?

A very few Peace Officers have posted on Oath Keepers and stated their intention to honor their oath, not only to support and defend the Constitution for these United States, but also to recognize that their primary purpose is to help defend Life, Liberty and Property. Not to abuse and confiscate, but to defend!

Those good men are very few and far between. Where are the rest? There should be tens of thousands.

    I hear... crickets chirping.

  2. The rule of law and equality under the law are of paramount importance. The only sad thing about this situation is that it's newsworthy when equality under the law is actually enforced.
