A Sacrificial Lamb
“Inaccuracies.” Is that how they spell “lies” these days at Eric Holder's Justice Department? [Read]
Now if they're just going to just accuse him of "screwing up," I suppose he can be induced to take it.
Only if he thinks there will be a severe price to pay will he have incentive to finger the bosses.
Otherwise, it's all kabuki.
Clueless
If contemporaneous emails sent by Justice Department officials are any indication, they didn’t have any clue what Grassley was talking about. [More]Is that kind of like saying if contemporaneous trace requests selectively sent by the Mexican government are any indication, 90% of cartel crime guns come from U.S. gun stores...?
TPM Schmuckraker Ryan J. Reilly is quickly proving himself to be quite the loyal administration apologist.
By all means, throw the little guys under the bus--that could be just the push they need to spill their guts. Assuming anyone has the balls to make this a criminal matter with prison sentences.
Republicans block Halligan confirmation
We learn that "all 53 members of the Democratic caucus" voted to end debate, including the supposedly "pro-gun Democrats." Joining them was Alaska Republican Lisa Murkowski. Republican Orrin Hatch did not join the filibuster and voted "Present." [More]This afternoon's Gun Rights Examiner report asks why a vote to support a gungrabber shouldn't affect a politician's grade.
Failure of Kurdistan gun control demonstrates universal truths
The place sounds like Brady Paradise. At least the results are the same. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary notes some things are the same wherever you are.
Schooling Kurt
Unintentional honesty from gun rights Quisling? [More]Excellent send-up of sellout Bob Pope. What a nitwit.
Kurt should have posted it as a Gun Rights Examiner column so he'd get page view compensation for it, just like he gets for his latest piece on NRA going for suppressor reform.
I don't know how else he's going to learn his lesson unless we all go over to his GRE page and then read and pass along the links for his individual columns.
That'll learn him.

Evil tyranny in action by the violence monopolists. [Watch]
Here is their agent.
Tom Wiseman: Anyone who is not a willing creature of darkness would resign before taking part in this, and join in condemning it. I'm not addressing you as a prosecutor, I'm addressing you as a presumed human being and American:
What the hell is wrong with you? "The banality of evil" applies to creatures such as you.

Arrested Development
But before you deputize yourself neighborhood sheriff, there are a few things you need to know about making a citizen’s arrest. If done properly, you can indeed become the local hero. If done improperly, you can be at the receiving end of an expensive lawsuit or even criminal charges.Or you could just end up looking like a corpse.
Or you could just end up looking like a Gomer Pyle...[More]
There's no one-size-fits-all and all situations are different, and what any of us would do really depends on our inclinations and the circumstances, but this is a pretty good general primer that includes deadly force situations.
I've never made a citizens arrest, but have intervened a few times in my life to stop violence to others or the threat of it. The only time I ever felt compelled to produce a tool to back my intent was in defense of myself and my family, and fortunately things did not escalate beyond that.
This Day in History: December 6
The Georgia loyalists in the Ebenezer area wasted no time in regrouping following the retreat of General Lincoln and the Southern Army into South Carolina. A Muster of Major James Wright’s Georgia Loyalists was made on December 6, 1779 at Abercorn, less than 10 miles southeast of Ebenezer. These records reveal that the Georgia Loyalists suffered substantial losses in the siege of Savannah. [More]
Vanderboegh exclusive: Melson thanked Burke for work on Fast and Furious
Blogger Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars has obtained a copy of a Feb. 3, 2011 email from Ken Melson, then-Acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to Dennis Burke, the former United States Attorney for the District of Arizona who resigned in the wake of revelations concerning his role in the Fast and Furious gunwalking scandal.
