For Better or For Worse

You know, an alternative to pragmatic coprophagia and preemptive surrender...

  1. AP has a point: imagine the past three years going exactly as they have, but under mccain instead of obama: president mccain assassinates an american citizen, anwar al awlaki, with a drone strike. then president mccain assassinates anwar's teenage son with a drone strike. "oops."

would i have to add anything else? would trillion-dollar budget holes even begin to register? i doubt this. the media would have nothing else to talk about for months. there would be several acts of violence, aimed at retribution.

unfortunately it is a point that comes up just before every election, recently, and it depends entirely on there being something to win back just a little later down the road.

    what road.

the fact is that obama until 2016 is plenty enough time to cross the point of no return, so it's not really any better or safer for americans, it's safer for the GOP. do they even remotely deserve it?

economic and otherwise, the troubles are only getting started. even a ron paul presidency will be contemporaneous with some good old fashioned national suffering; nobody's daydreaming here.

but until paul actually does not get the nomination, i'll still promote him as the sole viable option for the presidency. once he loses, well, we know obama beats romney, so we can concern ourselves strictly with being heard... as the rolling blackouts kick in, and the gas pumps shut off every day at 4pm.

before that happens, the only narrative is that we need to induce vomiting now or die on the way to the ER. i don't care if i see four years 25% unemployment with president paul. if that's how long it takes to correct the malinvestments and government interference, fine. it's not like the next generation is better prepared to cope: they're busy being sent to the public schools to learn to hate your culture.
