I read the story and then the comments. After some of those comments, I wouldn't want most of those people on my jury if I was on trial. One even stated he didn't need a trial because he confessed. Jesus wept, what happened to innocent until proven guilty. We treat our criminals better than our government treat our sick and disabled veterans. He should never have been deployed after suffering a brain injury in Iraq.
I think I understand why he hasn't been named, for the security of him and more importantly, his family. He's also under the jurisdiction of the UCMJ. The penalty for murder is "as a courts martial may direct". Which can include the death penalty.
It might be trying to protect his family back home. Once his name is out there everyone will jump. Maybe giving them time to get safe. That's why I would do it, but that's me.
Look at all the fanatics who worship The One and would go apeshit violent if someone did something to him. Do you think the government and the press would withhold the name of the assailant out of concern for his family's safety? If that's the issue, get them into immediate protective custody--I don't buy that this is a legitimate reason, and if that's the excuse, we'll NEVER be able to learn who he is.
My cynical side says there is a political reason behind this more than anything.
The bastards are lying again. They'd like nothing more than to pin something like this on a white Christian American. The fact that they don't, tells me that the one who did this isn't of a convenient ethnic or religious persuasion for the turd that was unlawfully planted in our White House.
The truth will come out. They ain't buying this one at sea.
"What are they trying to avoid revealing?"
ReplyDeleteJust guessing, Dave, just guessing.
1.he's Muslim,
2.he's black, and
3.he shouted "Allah Akbar" before the shooting started.
Why else would he be hidden so well from the cameras?

ReplyDeleteYep. According to his lawyer it's because "there's concern that his family could face repercussions."
ReplyDeleteHere is a link to the article about his lawyer.
