I just got off the phone with Mike's wife Rosey.
The surgery was completed this afternoon. Mike is now conscious and talking.
I'm not going to go into the details she explained to me because it's not necessary--suffice it to say they are anticipating a full recovery. She expects they will keep him in ICU through to next Monday as opposed to moving him to another room because staffing levels drop over the weekend.
She also very much appreciates the prayers and well-wishes I shared with her that have been communicated to me.
When I spoke with Mike this morning I had to be careful not to overdo telling the guy how much I appreciate him, because I didn't want to add to his worries by making it sound like I was saying goodbye. And afterward I regretted not doing so, because what if I was?
This really is the best possible news.
If I get any relevant updates, I'll of course share them.

Best wishes and GET WELL, MV!
ReplyDeleteDeo gratias.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing the great news--and if some collectivist bootlickers are shaking their heads in weary frustration, as I have faith they are, so much the better.
ReplyDeleteDAMNED good news, Mr. C!!! As you said, the best possible.
ReplyDeleteWho is there with Rosie? I hope the girls came home to be with her. Lord love her, her fun is just beginning. Something tells me keeping the Dutchman quiet long enough to get well is going to be a herculean task. My lady had knee replacement 4 weeks ago and it has been taxing. Give the redoubtable Rosie my best.

Thank you, David, for the update.
ReplyDeleteAnd, for your continued work too. Those of us who have been following for a while understand that it is the unique tandem of you and Mike that has enabled the outing of the Gunwalker scandal against what can only be called ridiculous obstacles.
Personally, I may have philosophical differences with each of you, but in the scheme of things those are simply trivial: I remain extremely impressed with the integrity, quality and directness of your work, and am proud to call you both my countrymen.
On the subject of being taken from us too soon, at any time: you and Mike should both understand that for many of us, "what you did for us" you actually did long ago, in a way that cannot be undone. Your continued work is much more a function of reaching those who are ready to listen now.
It remains important.
MBV, best wishes for a speedy recovery. "Return of Old Fat Man With a Cane" is a story I'll be happy to follow. :-)
Thanks for posting the update. I was talking to my wife about Mike's surgery as we were driving to a public range to practice for our upcoming CWP class. Told her it might be a long couple of days waiting to hear.
ReplyDeleteYou both shame those of us who don't do a fraction as much for the cause.
i don't necessarily think my prayers are the ones, but someone has it in good with God. God bless Mike.
ReplyDeleteGood news. Godspeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update David. Truly wonderful news. Here's wishing Mike a very speedy recovery while he basks in the healing warmth of his dear family and his many friends.
ReplyDeleteThanx, David, for keeping us posted - for all you do, really.
ReplyDeleteFolks in my small circle continue to pray for Mike.

Thanks for the update, and best wishes to Mike.
ReplyDeleteAwesome news- thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteI know that so many of us will have only ten minutes or so online, and like most, I always check you & Mike first, after my email - then if I have time, other stuff. And I am guilty of not telling you more often how much your work is deeply appreciated, both here and on your Examiner column as well as the other places you tend to pop up. You and Mike have truly carried this movement forward, sometimes almost alone, and you have never swerved from the true course. thanks.
God bless you one and all.

Thanks for letting us know Mike is doing OK.
ReplyDeleteThat crusty fucker can take on the whole US Government with nothing more than a laptop. I wish him the best and his best fighting days are ahead of him!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update David, he has been much in our thoughts and prayers as are you. We just lost a champion of liberty the other week and need all we can get for the conflict. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteCheering, whistling, giving thanks.
ReplyDeleteAs expected!
ReplyDeletePrayers still outbound...
Wonderful news! Thanks for the update, David.
