“When we find a gang member carrying a concealed gun, it will be up to the police officer to conduct a background check on the spot to see if that gang member qualifies under the new law to carry a concealed pistol,” Allender said. [More]Yeah, this business of expecting us to have probable cause is really a hassle...
1 This cop assumes that a person is a gang member wthout proof? Or is this a sentence calculated to cause an emotional reaction in the reader?
ReplyDelete2 If you know he has a weapon, this means that you searched him, meaning that you already have probable cause to believe that he committed a crime. Or it should.
3 Don't cops run a check when they search you anyway? How else would they know whether or not you have a warrant?
4 GIVING people their freedoms? Really? Is it a freedom if someone must give it to you?
Every plate they run, every citizen they encounter, every complaint they take, they run you for wants and warrants before anything else...
ReplyDeleteAnd we're the morons who put up with it.
