In a year and a half two fellows whom I came in contact with working there sustained gun shot wounds as there is an active gang war between North side, Central and South Side districts. Among incidents are gang members entering the churches to attack others. One fellow I also came in contact with was killed outside a convenience store a few blocks from where I worked. Attending his funeral there were armed security present.
In sum, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence had no problem with illegal gun sales and use, only legal gun sales and use by law abiding citizens.
