The DEA, like most federal agencies, is run and staffed by psychopaths. Only a psychopath supervised and accompanied by other psychopaths could throw a man into a hole in the wall and "forget" him.
If this was a story describing a seized dog in a pound left caged in the dark without food or water for three days, it would be the lead story on the nightly news. PETA would be on the streets demanding immediate change. A drug arrest? Well, that is another thing - War on Drugs, dontcha know.
Odd thing, though. If I see an unknown powder, my first reaction is not to ingest that powder.
