What is it About Kenyans...

...and "gun control"? [Read]

I will admit that green coating is kind of tough to defend.

    “That is why we want the government to pay attention as guns have landed in wrong hands. We want a treaty that makes it impossible for militia groups like al-shabaab to acquire arms,” he said."

    Yeah, you would not want any "well regulated militias", even those not like al-shabaab, to oppose any violence during elections, would you? It is unacceptable to many that 1st Amendment free speech rights allow those who espouse opinions differing from their opinions to freely express themselves. "Acquiring guns in case of violence" applies to both those who support violence and to those who oppose violence, but realize that force must be met with overwhelming force. Disarmament usually only disarms those that oppose violence and are unwilling to meet force with overwhelming force.
