“He said, they have the names addresses of every member of Congress, and the Senate, their wives, their children, the school that they go to, all the cabinet members, all of the head officials in Washington, all the officials in state governments. And he said, they will all be assassinated, quickly.” [More]It's tough to separate the noise from the signal. I bring you this link not to endorse it, but because it's a curiosity and a consideration. Still, why would the Russians be stupid enough to think that would paralyze those who won't bow to any enemy, foreign or domestic?
UPDATE:
Mike dusts off his old VHS copy of "Invasion USA."
And Kent wins the coveted Best Comment Award, and all the honors and fabulous prizes that go with it.
After a quick scan of that article, and much rolling of eyes, I'll say that my initial and final assessment is that while Russian governments have displayed stupidity within Russia, they've rarely displayed that in other countries.
ReplyDeleteThere is, simply, no reason that they'd do this to the US government, and I'd not shed any but crocodile tears if they did.
Please, scary Russians, don't throw me in the brier patch by killing all my beloved leaders! Please don't!
ReplyDeleteWhy Kent, you stole my comment. LOL That was exactly my first thought as well.
ReplyDeleteI do not think any foreign power would be foolish enough to actually invade the U.S. Even though there is no evidence that he actually UTTERED it, there is a quote attributed to IJN Admiral Yamamoto that is true no matter who said it. Yamamoto is supposed to have said "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." Worse for the invaders, many of the people behind those rifles would be combat veterans of both the sandbox AND the rock pile.
ReplyDeleteSomething else anyone considering invading the U.S. needs to remember. In 2011 alone more firearms were bought in this country than there are members in the 17 LARGEST ARMED FORCES ON THE PLANET COMBINED!!!
