For the purposes of this article, "firearms" are rifles and shotguns, but not handguns, which is nonsensical. According to the FBI, for 2011, 68% of 12,664 murders by weapons were committed by firearms of all types (handguns, rifles and shotguns), leaving 32% from other causes, including "pushing". I guess that the "Coalition to Stop Pushing Violence" just does not have the same urgency for effectively raising funds to support he staffers' lifestyles.
