While I love it that the banker allows weapons, following the no-longer-threatening robber to his car instead of letting him go peacefully away with his ill-gotten gains is hardly a clear case of acting in self-defense.
Bank robbery's a felony. MO law allows use of deadly force to prevent a felony. It seems to me to be more of a citizens arrest rather than self defense. Not too far from where I live either.
