Gun advocates cite legal dangers in Ohio hidden vehicle compartment bill

This is a documented real world issue with documented real world consequences affecting the liberty of everyday Americans, as opposed to the underworld drug culture the compartment bill is presumed to be addressing. Unless SB305 is sidelined, it will have real world consequences in Ohio. [More
Today's second Gun Rights Examiner report shows how a new War on Drugs bill under consideration promises to dovetail with the War on Guns and make felons of everyone who uses "legal" tender.

Vanderboegh Medical Update

Mike just called me. He's been ordered back to ER because they've found another infection. He's lucid enough and absolutely livid at the new report about the latest (disputed) balking on the part of the Republicans in re Holder contempt charges, and he's looking forward to letting everyone know just how pissed he is as soon as he can get to his computer.

Guns in Mexico subject of TV panel that includes Gun Rights Examiner

Proposed US law makes domestic propaganda legal [More
So The Washington Post and New York Times, et al, all propagating administration talking points, will become even more overt public/private partnerships than they already are, or what?

A number of Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee are wary of moving forward with Issa’s proposed measure...
In medical laboratory terms, we call such people "stool samples."

UPDATE: Vanderboegh called me from the hospital--his sources are telling him this is disinformation put out by the other side, and with Jordy Yeager involved, that is believable.  Still, he needs to see some movement on this quickly from the leadership, including to discredit this new account and to get Boehner off the dime.

I recall reading about these last year. Pretty cool and fun, and sure to brighten up any garden.

When Raw Milk is Outlawed

The plus side is, everyone they harass, be it milk producers/consumers or people with politically incorrect wood in their guitars, they just keep adding to the ranks of those with an axe to grind. [Read]

Viva Cuba!

Not very edifying to see the world crowing at an attempt to crackdown on corruption; nor is the point made by other commenters that communism/socialism do incorporate some ideals of social equity, help for the underdog, universal education and health care which Cuba has at least to a great extent achieved in comparison with its richer, possibly meaner and more aggressive neighbour ... nor are guns a necessary part of life there either ... please remenber these things before coming down quite so hard ... and quite so meanly..
Yeah, well, y'see, Marxist bedwetter, Castro started out loving guns. It wasn't until he put himself on the top of the heap that he suddenly questioned anyone else having them. And as for coming down hard and meanly, don't tell us, tell them.

F...ing "progressive" idiot.

If Zimmerman Walks

Yet the public mind has been so poisoned that an acquittal of George Zimmerman could ignite a reaction similar to that, 20 years ago, when the Simi Valley jury acquitted the LAPD cops in the Rodney King beating case. [More]
With the caveat that I have no crystal ball and I've been astonishingly wrong before, I think it will be worse. I don't think it will be confined to one city. If so, much of it will be waged by the children of the LA rioters' generation,  no doubt profoundly influenced by the quality of the parenting and the cultural influences they experienced and are immersed in.

Just a Minor Fender Bender

In a statement, Dodgers officials praised stadium security and Los Angeles police for a "quick security response (that) prevented the confrontation from escalating further." [More]
But that did nothing to prevent the targeted victim from almost getting killed by vicious pack animals.  What cowards--can you imagine three grown males holding someone down while the fourth kicks him in the head and face?

What could have prevented them from attacking him, and from anyone getting hurt in the first place?

Forget it--the antis say guns and fender benders don't mix. They would rather you and your loved ones be held down and kicked in the head until the "Only Ones" swoop in to save the day.

A Prohibited Person?

On Nov. 28, 2001, Edwards fired several rounds into the walls of their house during a fight with his wife, police said. He was charged with domestic violence, assault, aggravated menacing and using a weapon while under the influence. He was charged on Feb.23, 2005, with simple assault and domestic violence after another fight with his wife, police said. He pleaded guilty to unlawful restraint in 2002 and negligent assault in 2005, both misdemeanors, Porter said. [More

So are they saying the Lautenberg misdemeanor domestic violence prohibition doesn't work?

When Super Soakers are Outlawed...

Even more troubling, Bill Mayfield, who works at Gilmay Guns in Fresno tells KMPH it only costs about $30 worth of parts to transform a toy into a shotgun, and you don't have to be a gun expert to do it. [More]
Well then the solution is obvious: We need to close the gun "parts" loophole!

Either that or the very idea that "gun control" laws can stop anyone determined to violate them is all wet.

This Day in History: May 22

Major Ferguson was appointed Inspector of Militia on May 22, 1780. His tasking was to march to Tryon County, North Carolina, raise and organize Loyalist units from the Tory population of the Carolina Backcountry, and protect the left flank of Lord Cornwallis' main body at Charlotte, North Carolina.
