I don't think his L.A. gangbangers read his blog. They're too busy running around the streets shooting at each other. Besides, even if they did get his message, street thugs with felony convictions aren't known for altruistically giving up their guns for the sake of mankind.
King owned guns and applied for a concealed carry permit. We as gun owners don't advocate violence but both King and Gandhi knew the importance of being able to defend themselves. Non-violent protest does not equal pacifism.

Because we see how well non-violence worked for MLK and Gandhi. They were killed by people who DIDN'T believe in non-violence.
