Just Great

I haven't seen the briefs filed in this, but have to say the emphasis, from this report, that the main argument was it would create a national registry doesn't seem particularly compelling to me, either. [More]

Of course, having a Bush the Elder judge joined by Carter and Clinton appointees should fill no one with hope except those looking for legal precedents to skin us with.

Now all SCOTUS has to do is ...nothing.

  1. Bush I enabled our current mess; he set precedent with his exec order ban of certain imported weapons...damned statist bastards all.

  2. To stop the flow of guns to Mexican cartels, all we have to do is disband the US Government.

  3. US gov is nothing more than an ongoing criminal conspiracy/enterprise. Seems RICO would work but I'm told that RICO cannot be filed on gov. entities...maybe it can be on gov. employees individually and severally?

  4. What's not mentioned in all this, of course, is that this tacked-on "multiple-purchase reporting requirement for semi-automatic rifles" 1) will do absolutely nothing other than increase the FFL licenseholders' paperwork load, plus give the BATBoys/Girls yet another little detail on which to try to trip up said licenseholders, 2) is clearly a limp-wristed, after-the-fact attempt at "legitimizing", in some warped way, Operation GunRunner (aka: "Fast And Furious" - or, as the Mexican drug-cartels would call it, "U.S. Gubmint Foreign Aid For Mexican Drug-Dealers' Kill Squads").

"...The ATF says the requirement is needed to help stop the flow of guns to Mexican drug cartels."

Sharp Shot Of The Clue-Bat To The BATties: Only "help" required to stop that flow of guns? YOU clowns STOP RUNNING the guns to them!!
