  3. This is in-line with our military responding to natural disasters and assisting local authorities. In all my years of Army service, I never heard anyone interpret this as authority to declare martial law. This allows military units to respond when time is essential and communications are down. Think the San Francisco earthquake in 1906. A mass panic can't be handled by local police. There just aren't enough of them and they will be concerned with their families, not their jobs. This scenario has happened many times in U.S. history and hasn't resulted in the destruction of the republic. Military personnel take their oath seriously. Please have a little faith in your sons and daughters. They have earned it.

  4. THEY may indeed have earned that faith, Robin. But their LEADERSHIP clearly has not. I give you the Guard assisting the New Orleans pigs in gun confiscation following Katrina as an example. And please do note that was BEFORE the Chimp in Chief started his purges of the military "leadership". The term is "Perfumed Princes" and "Perfumed Princesses". And they are rampant at the top.

  5. I don't think the National Guard in New Orleans was "federalized" at the time. The NG isn't the "military", anyway. They are just a part of it. I'll grant that our country's military leadership at the national level is absolutely horrible. They have no honor nor shame. They aren't warriors, they're politicians. I am very ashamed of/for them.
