But those with the clout to make a difference didn't think it was worth expending the "political capital," whatever the hell that really means, and not enough "internet activists" lifted a finger to urge them otherwise.

I did too. For all the good it did. I think Grassley voted against him. Harkin, however, marched to the party tune like he always does. At least Harkin is retiring in 14.
