There's another object lesson here for those who think "compromise" is the answer: What do you suppose would have happened had she thrown a piece of meat to them?
For fifteen highly motivated, hungry dogs you would need more than a handgun to avoid injury. Even if she was armed and defended herself, then calls would go out to arrest her for killing or injuring those "poor doggies", and discharging a firearm, possibly injuring others. Who does she think she is anyways, a police officer wannabe?
Everyone in a situation like this thinks "gosh, I wish I had only 7 rounds..."
