Are they really that restrictive?  It seems nuts to have to even ask, but with what's been going on over there, the whole situation is nuts anyway.

    Yes, that is accurate. I grew up in NYS. You cannot be in physical possession of a pistol in New York without a permit - the person who provided it and the person in possession would be committing felonies.

    When gun laws in places like NY, California and DC apply to EVERYONE, I'll start obeying them too!
